Dr.
Mitchell has been practicing in East Point for the past 21 years.
He’s more than just a neighborhood dentist - he’s a
native resident of the community and the city of Atlanta. After
graduating from Greater Atlanta Christian High School in Norcross,
Dr. Mitchell attended Harding University where he received his Bachelors
degree in 1978.
After graduation, Dr. Mitchell returned to Atlanta to attend Emory
University’s School of Dentistry. In 1983 he received his
Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and opened his practice that same
year in East Point. Through a variety of continuing education courses,
Dr. Mitchell continues to explore many areas of dentistry, particularly
endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthetic care, and crown and
bridge care. As a firm believer in patient education, he has studied
extensively so he can address your concerns and help you maintain
good dental health.
In addition to his practice, he is on the staff at the South Fulton
Medical Center, and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Mitchell is married and has three children. His interests include
tennis, traveling, the beach, fine dining, photography, music, cooking
and spending time with his family.

Sharon Burdette
– Office Manager/Receptionist
Sharon is the face at the front desk all of our patients recognize,
and the voice helping them over the phone. As our office manager
for the past 20 years, she knows most of our patients by name and
the best ways to help them. She handles all of our scheduling, and
is knowledgeable in addressing insurance matters. Sharon is a native
of Atlanta and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, doing
arts and crafts and teaching Sunday school.
Kelley Upchurch
– Dental Assistant
Kelley is another familiar face to our longtime patients. For the
past 16 years, she has worked as an assistant in our office. She
is well versed in all of our dental procedures, from taking x-rays
to making provisional crowns. Kelley is also good about explaining
what she’s doing in non-dental terms to our patients when
they have questions. Kelley is also an Atlanta native and enjoys
working out, reading, shopping and is very involved with her family
and church.
Sharron Church
– Hygienist
Sharron has used her knowledge and clinical skills to provide quality
dental hygiene services for our patients over the past 5 years.
As a fully trained and accredited hygienist, Sharron is an expert
in soft tissue management and scaling and root planing. Sharron
takes the time to explain and educate our patients on the best ways
to prevent oral disease at home. Her positive attitude and friendly
approach help motivate our patients to maintain their dental health
between routine cleanings. Sharron is originally from Amarillo,
Texas but now resides in Atlanta. She enjoys spending time with
her grandchildren, music, singing, the piano, decorating and antiquing.
