DDS System™ Helps Patients Lose Weight
If you’re dieting to lose weight, you're likely to find tips to
improve your diet in almost any health magazine. Drink a glass of water
with your meal, nutritionists advise. Take smaller bites, and try to eat
more slowly.
Recently, this last piece of advice has gained a lot of attention. When
you eat with smaller bites, you eat more slowly and your brain knows when
you’re full. Since we live in a fast-paced world, however, many people
don’t have the luxury of eating slowly. Often, people gain weight
because they’re over-eating and their body doesn’t realize
it until too late.
New dental technology called the DDS System™ helps you lose weight
by forcing you to take smaller bites of food. Using a customized oral insert,
the DDS System™ reduces the size of your mouth so you take smaller
bites, retrain your eating habits, and lose weight without overly restricting
your menu.
Our office has recently included the DDS System™ under preventative
services. If you are considering this new technology as a weight loss option,
contact our office to see if the DDS System™ is right for you.
Creating a Dazzling Smile: Whitening with Zoom!™
Within
the last few years, a variety of do-it-yourself whitening products have
appeared on the market. The availability of these products sparked a demand
for bright, clean looking smiles, and many of our patients asked us what
we recommended in our practice and at home to achieve the look.
In our office, we use the Zoom!™ In-Office System. This product
uses a light-activated whitening gel to removed stains such as coffee,
wine, and tobacco from the enamel and dentin in your teeth. Safe and effective,
the process only takes an hour and the results are long-lasting when you
continue to brush and floss. If you want to whiten your teeth from the
comfort of your home, you can use the Zoom!™ Take Home System. While
the system takes a little longer, you can still achieve a whiter, more
dazzling smile.
If
you aren’t sure what system is right for you, talk to us during
your next appointment. We can explain the difference between one system
over the other and answer any questions or concerns you may have about
whitening your teeth.
